Cordyceps , one of the better-known traditional Chinese medicines, consist of dried fungus Cordyceps Sinensis growing on the larva of the caterpillar. It is commonly used in China for the replenishment of general body health.

    Cordyceps has been studied in systemic lupus
    erythematosus in rats. Cordyceps sinensis reduced the level of proteinuria and anti-ds-DNA antibody in plasma, and improved kidney function in rats with SLE.
